HERNDON, VA — The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a proffer amendment and conceptual development plan for Arrowbrook Centre, which will permit the development of 10 single-family attached dwelling units and a 32-unit multi-family building on a 1.46 site south of the Dulles Airport Road.

In June 2016, the Board had approved two high-rise multi-family residential buildings, 10 to 12 stories in height, on the property. The overall Arrowbrook site is 53.84 acres and already partially developed. The developer was seeking to reconfigure 3.37 acres of the overall site in order to construct the new dwelling units and multi-family building.

Located on the west side of Centreville Road and north of Arrowbrook Centre Drive, the property is within the Innovation Center Transit Station Area.

Included in the proffer agreement, the developer, Arrowbrook Centre LLC, has committed to building a 10-foot-wide Herndon Metrorail Stations Access Management Study (HMSAMS) Trail running parallel to the Dulles Airport Access and Toll Roads. The developer will also construct a pocket park on the northwestern portion of the property as the HMSAMS trail is being developed.

As Dranesville Supervisor John Foust made the motion calling for approval of the proposal, he called it "a very straightforward case."
