Police: Arrest in W&OD Trail Assaults

Suspect on bicycle charged with two counts of simple assault, say Herndon police.

In the past month, Herndon police said they had received several reports about a young man on a bicycle who was touching women inappropriately as he rode past them on the W&OD Trail.

All of the incidents occurred in the early evening along the popular biking and hiking trail, which runs through the heart of town. The suspect was described by police as a Hispanic male, in his late teens to early 20s, who would touch a female on the buttocks as he rode by.
