When, How To Dispose Of Your Christmas Tree In Herndon
Herndon residents must put their Christmas trees out for collection Jan. 8-10. Trees are collected on the residents' regular trash days.

HERNDON, VA -- The Town of Herndon will be picking up Christmas trees Jan. 8-10, but only on town residents' regular trash days. All decorations must be removed and the tree should be placed as close to the curb as possible.
Here is the schedule for recycling and trash collection during the holidays:

- Monday, Dec. 30 – All town recycling will be collected
- Tuesday, Dec. 31 – No recycling collection
Trash Collection
- Tuesday, Dec. 31 – Trash normally collected on Wednesday will be collected on Tuesday
- Wednesday, Jan. 1 – No collection
- Thursday, Jan. 2 – Normal Thursday collection
- Friday, Dec. 27 & Jan. 3 – Normal Friday collection
Residents receiving private collection services should check with their collector.

Another option is recycling your tree at the I-66 Transfer Station or the I-95 Landfill Complex. A $7 fee is charged for recycling your tree. All ornaments and decorations must be removed before disposal.
