• Irvington pursues transportation safety measures (rrecord.com) — Irvington officials are moving ahead with scaled‑back plans to add sidewalks along the hazardous curve of King Carter Drive, aiming to improve pedestrian safety despite missing out on a key grant. At the July 9 town council meeting, leaders discussed focusing first on the most dangerous stretch in front of Aqua Virginia’s property, where the company has agreed to allow a sidewalk on its land.
