Falls are NOT an inevitable part of aging.

Free Community Fall Risk Screenings Offered

Project Mend-A-House, a non-profit organization serving seniors, veterans, the disabled and low-income residents of Prince William County, the City of Manassas, and Manassas Park, is offering fall risk screenings at NO CHARGE to adults over 60. Pre-registration is required and space is limited.

The first screening will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 9750 Wellington Rd, Manassas. To register, call 703-792-6402 or tswirchak@gmail.com.

The second screening will be held on Friday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center, 14300 Minnieville Rd, Dale City. To register call 703-670-7115, ext. 227 orbfinney@pwcgov.org.

Have your vision checked by an Optometrist, your gait and balance evaluated by a Physical Therapist, your medications reviewed by a Pharmacist, and meet with a Nurse who will discuss and explain your results. Choose to participate in a research project headed by the Locomotion Research Department from Virginia Tech to further the development of new technology to help prevent falls among older adults.
