The Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College will host the 2013 Green Festival on April 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This family-friendly event will include demonstrations, exhibits, games, a climbing wall, balloon artist, face painting, an Arbor Day tree planting, food, and much more!
An awards ceremony will take place at 1 p.m., with a presentation of the LEED Certified award for the newly-opened Student Services (CA) Building. The award will be presented by Jamie Van Mourik, director of higher education for the U.S. Green Building Council. The CA building is the first LEED Certified building at NOVA.

In addition, there will be Build a Lady Bug Hut Workshops, the Zoo-to-You Petting Zoo, and the Reptiles Alive! Wildlife Show, as well as stage performances by Billy B, the Natural Science Song and Dance Man. A variety of exhibitors will demonstrate green practices and screenings of "The Lorax" and "Last Call at the Oasis,” are scheduled throughout the day.
