July 15 is next deadline for House of Mercy SHARE orders
MANASSAS, Va. – July 15 is the next deadline for House of Mercy SHARE orders, which will be accepted until 5 p.m. that day.
SHARE orders must be picked up Saturday, July 27, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the House of Mercy, located at 8170 Flannery Court in Manassas.
As part of SHARE’s nonprofit food network, the House of Mercy, a nonprofit humanitarian organization located in Manassas, makes nutritious, wholesome frozen meat and fresh produce available to local families at about half the price they’d pay in a grocery store. Anyone can buy.
SHARE (Self Help And Resource Exchange) is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Washington.
The July menu includes four packages. They are the “Value Package,” for $22, and the following, each for $21: “Easy, Summer Chicken,” “Schwan’s™ Breakfast Bagel Pouches®” and “Miniature Beef Hamburgers.
Orders include a $2 surcharge per package to cover transportation costs. The House of Mercy receives no profit from the sale of SHARE packages.
The “Value Package” contains more than a pound and a half of chicken drums, one pound each of miniature hamburgers, ham steak, brown rice and yellow split peas, three quarters of a pound of ground turkey and eight to nine pounds of fresh summer produce.
“Easy, Summer Chicken” includes 10 pounds of all natural, antibiotic-free chicken tenderloin with no artificial ingredients. Marinated, breaded and pre-browned, the chicken is also ready to cook.
“Schwan’s™ Breakfast Bagel Pouches®” contain a total of 18 sandwiches of sausage, scrambled egg and hashed browns in a cheddar cheese sauce, all wrapped in bagel dough. “Miniature Beef Hamburgers” includes 96 miniature seasoned, cooked burgers.
Unless paying by credit or debit card, you must place your SHARE order in person at the House of Mercy, which accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover, cash, food stamps, EBT and money orders. No checks are accepted.
