Through the medium of relief block printing, artist Linda Larochelle creates portraits of the faces she encounters daily that are far from quotidian. These delightful portraits emerge from lines and textural patterns carved into the printing block. The strikingly expressive relief prints that result are not easily forgotten. Portraits and Patterns opens August 6 through September 1 at the Loft Gallery with a Meet-the-Artist Reception on Sunday, August 11 from 1-4pm.
