$4 Million Lottery Ticket Claimed By Loudoun Man

A Loudoun County man has won $4 million in the Virginia Lottery scratch-off game "Hot Millions Multiplier."

PURCELLVILLE, VA — As a mailman, Bill Malsch has, of course, delivered lots of things to lots of people. But it's doubtful the Purcellville man has ever delivered anything like what he recently delivered to himself with the scratch of a coin to a flimsy lottery ticket.

That would be $4 million. Malsch scratched his way to that sum in the Virginia Lottery's "Hot Millions Multiplier" game. You might no be surprised at his first reaction, according to the Virginia Lottery: "It's not real." He bought the winning ticket at Shop N Save, 609 East Main Street, which will receive a $10,000 bonus.

Malsch had the option of getting $4 million over 30 years or a one-time cash option of nearly $2.25 million before taxes. He chose the latter. He's the second player to win the top prize in the game, which means one more winning ticket is still out there. Never mind the 1 in 1,305,600 odds.
