4th of July Parade Announced in the Town of Purcellville
The Purcellville Volunteer Fire Department and the Town of Purcellville invite Leesburg to the annual Independence Day Parade on July 4.

Come and visit Purcellville’s Fourth of July Parade!
The Purcellville Volunteer Fire Department and the Town of Purcellville are pleased to invite you to the annual Independence Day Parade kicking off at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 4th. The parade will start at Emerick Elementary School, march down Orchard Avenue, turn right onto Main Street, take a left onto Maple Avenue, and conclude at Loudoun Valley High School. As a convenience for families with small children or those with sensitive hearing, a “quiet zone” will be designated on Main Street along the parade route in the vicinity of Purcellville Marketplace (130 E. Main St.). Marked by signage, the quiet zone is a section of the parade route with reduced canon fire, sirens, and loud music from participating

Please note that streets along the parade route will be closed from approximately 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. to through traffic. “Amazing American Heroes” has been selected as the 2016 parade theme. Parade unit winners will be chosen by the Independence Day Parade Citizen Volunteer group. Again this year, the Purcellville Gazette will be handing off the "Liberty Cup," which is currently in the possession of the 2015 top winning entry from St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Keep your eyes on the parade for the 2016 winners, as the top three patriotic entries will receive a ribbon and a banner to display during the parade.
