Ashburn Native heads to National Gymnastics Competition
Maddy Scozzie of Ashburn will represent the region at a national competition in May. Anli Solly of Leesubrg will serve as an alternate.
Local gymnasts will compete in a national tournament after a strong showing in a regional competition earlier this month.
Apex Gymnastics, based in Leesburg, sent several members to competed in Level 9 Regionals on April 9 -10 in Landover, Md.
Maddy Scozzie, 16, of Ashburn, took second all-around after finishing second on beam and floor. She has qualified as a member of the regional team at the national competition in May.

Anli Solly, 17, of Leesburg, finished fifth on beam, seventh on floor and eight all around. She will be an alternate for the regional team at nationals.
Bridgette Schaal, 14, of Nokesville, finished 10th on vault.

Sara Connors, 14, and Alex Cocozza, 15, both of Ashburn, also represented APEX in the Senior 1 and Senior 3 divisions.
