Author to sign new 'Virginia Rail Trails' book in Leesburg on April 24 at Books and Other Found Things

LEESBURG, Va. - Author Joe Tennis is signing copies of his book, “Virginia Rail Trails: Crossing the Commonwealth,” on April 24, 1-3 p.m., at Books and Other Found Things, in Leesburg, 13 Loudoun St.-SW.

The book features stories, maps, 142 photos, train history and trail guides to 45 rail trails, including the W&OD Trail, Warrenton Branch and the Virginia Creeper Trail.  Trails range from easy walks to journeys of 57 miles long through tunnels, passing waterfalls and crossing large trestles.

“Virginia Rail Trails” (The History Press, $19.99) features 272 pages and includes a 32-page color insert.
