The Hope for Leesburg event was conceived as an opportunity to introduce people to the promise of Jesus Christ in a non-church context. “Most people have no idea that Jesus is alive and real,” says event coordinator Bill LaRock of One Hope Ministries. “We want people to encounter a living Jesus who is totally relevant to where we live and totally able to fix our broken lives, our families and even our sick bodies. People are not interested in empty tradition or religious hype.”
Last year quite a number of people were deeply touched by God at the event. Some even came with a physical ailment or injury and left without it. “We realize that supernatural healing and miracles are quite out of most people’s realm of experience, but we are trying to get back to the reality and power of the gospel which we read about in the Bible.” says LaRock.
