BRAMBLETON RIBBON RUN TO BENEFIT LOUDOUN COUNTY PATIENTS

The Step Sisters announce date for breast cancer charity event

The Step Sisters are proud to announce their 8th annual Step Sisters’ Brambleton Ribbon Run 5k/10k - Run/Walk, presented by StoneSpring Emergency Center taking place on Saturday, April 18th. Proceeds from the race directly benefit area breast cancer patients. New this year, is the ability for groups to register and actively fundraise as a team. Individuals and teams wishing to register should visit www.BrambletonRibbonRun.com.

Named Northern Virginia’s Best Charity Event for 2014 by Virginia Living Magazine, the event has grown to be one of the largest 5k/10k events in Loudoun County and is expected to attract over 2,000 runners and walkers to Brambleton’s town center.

The Step Sisters work to improve the quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer. Money raised by the group funds needed services for local patients. By partnering with Inova Loudoun Hospital as well as several local vendors, the Step Sisters are able to provide transportation, fresh food delivery, house cleaning, lawn services and childcare for those undergoing treatment for the disease.

Adjacent to the race course is Sharon’s Showcase - an educational expo highlighting important resources available in the area. This showcase is open to all visitors and was created in memory of the first Step Sister to lose her battle to breast cancer.

ABOUT THE STEP SISTERS

The Step Sisters work to improve the quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer. Partnering with local hospitals, the group funds needed support services that directly benefit patients in Loudoun County and the surrounding areas.

A 501c3 non-profit organization, the Step Sisters hold several fundraising events with their largest, the Ribbon Run attracting nearly 2,000 participants to Brambleton annually.
