Building Evacuated After Powdery Substance Found in Leesburg
The Shenandoah Building was evacuated after three employees came in contact with a suspicious substance: LCSO. It was later deemed safe.

LEESBURG, VA — The Shenandoah Building in the 100 block of Heritage Building was evacuated Thursday after three employees came in contact with a suspicious powdery substance in an envelope. The substance later was found to be non-hazardous after an tests and an investigations by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, Leesburg Police and Loudoun County Fire and Rescue.
Shortly after 4 p.m., police and fire units arrived at the scene and evacuated the building because of the unknown nature of the substance. The three employees were taken outside and quarantined while firefighters helped them rinse off to remove any possible material left on their skin or clothing.

The exposed employees watched the investigation and the tests and soon were told the substance wasn't toxic and they weren't in danger. Even so, the incident remains under investigation.
