Car Crashes Through Leesburg Courthouse Fence

A car crashed through the iron fence surrounding the Loudoun County courthouse on Wednesday afternoon in downtown Leesburg, according toa report from the Washington Post.

The driver, an unidentified woman, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to fully recover, according to local authorities, the Post said.

The accident occurred shortly after 1:45 p.m., when the 2014 Subaru crashed through the fence, continued across the lawn and came to a stop after entering the portico surrounding the courthouse entrance, according to the paper, quoting the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report on the Leesburg Today website, a witness said the car struck a truck before crashing through the fence. It then proceeded up a hill and stopped short of the front entrance.
