Driver Faces Charges Following Route 15 Accident

Clyde W. Miller II, 39, of Leesburg, has been charged with DUI (second offense), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and driving on a suspended license.

Clyde W. Miller II, 39, of Leesburg, has been charged with a DUI after he crashed his 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee near the Raspberry Falls Drive intersection of Rt. 15 Thursday afternoon.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the area of Route 15 near Lucketts just after 4 p.m. for a report of a man who was driving a vehicle with the intent to harm himself.

A deputy located the vehicle as it lost control and overcorrected into the path of northbound traffic. The vehicle then traveled into an embankment and rolled before striking the passenger side of a northbound 2011 Nissan.

Miller was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital  but was later released. He was charged with DUI (second offense), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and driving on a suspended license. He was being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

The driver of the Nissan was uninjured and the vehicle sustained minor damage. Route 15 was closed for approximately one hour.
