The proceeds from this year's race will benefit LAWS (the Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter), a facility that opened in March 1985 to provide temporary emergency shelter, food and emotional support to women and their children who were escaping domestic violence and abuse. Both the 5K and 1 mile Family Fun Run/Walk will start and finish in front of the Lansdowne Potomac Club. Prizes will be awarded, for the 5K participants, in the following categories:
- Top 3 overall male and female finishers
- Top 3 finishers age 12 and under
- Top 3 finishers age 13-17
