The Loudoun County Department of Construction & Waste Management will host the first Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event Saturday, March 19 at Heritage High School. HHW includes items such as fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, oil-based paints/stains/varnishes, paint thinners, metal polishes, rust removers, pesticides, herbicides, wood preservatives, furniture polish, waxes, bathroom, kitchen and oven cleaners, pool chemicals, old fuels including gas/oil mixes, kerosene and diesel fuel, and many others.
