Farm-to-Fork Loudoun runs from Thursday, July 23, through Sunday, Aug. 2. During this time, participating chefs and restaurant owners will commit to using at least 70 percent locally sourced farm-fresh ingredients to develop a special menu available to their patrons.

Now in its fourth year, the 2015 Farm-to-Fork Loudoun initiative hopes to be the most exciting one yet, as this year’s program once again focuses on the culinary diversity the county has to offer by spotlighting the talents of local chefs, paired with some of Loudoun’s locally grown, born and raised fare from its farmers and fine wineries.

This year’s Farm-to-Fork Loudoun will also look to diversify geographically by adding on restaurants throughout the entire county, from incorporated towns such as Leesburg, Purcellville and Middleburg to those in the many shopping centers throughout eastern Loudoun.

“Farm-to-Fork Loudoun has seen steady growth since its inception in terms of the number of family farmers we’ve been able to help, as well as meeting our goal of diversifying our restaurants and bringing on establishments located throughout the entire county,” said Miriam Nasuti, frounder of Farm-to-Fork Loudoun. “We look forward to embarking on this Kickstarter campaign and reaching a larger audience who will come dine, in turn help our participating farm families grow their revenue model, not to mention the restaurants and wineries as well.”

Farm-to-Fork Loudoun serves as a win-win for all those involved, from participants to restaurant patrons. For the farming community, it gives both well- and newly- established farms built-in exposure and easy access to local chefs to sell to. Restaurants also gain significant exposure through the marketing of Farm-to-Fork Loudoun, and consumers get to experiencedining on foods grown in their own community, while making a contribution to their local economy.

The Kickstarter campaign begins on Tuesday, April 14, and runs until Monday, May 18. Donations begin at $15 and go up to $1,500.

Those who donate can receive a variety of rewards, from a Farm-to-Fork decal or mug to an overnight stay at a special Loudoun hotel, among other incentives. To donate to the Kickstarter campaign, please visit www.farmtoforkloudoun.com.
