Father Indicted in Toddler's Death in 2014

9-month-old girl died from severe head trauma, according to Leesburg Police.

A Leesburg father has been indicted in the death of his 9-month-old daughter, according to Leesburg Police.

Arrested on Wednesday, Diamante Travon Ellis, 23, was indicted this week on charges of 2nd Degree Murder, Felony Child Abuse / Neglect, and Felony Murder in the Oct. 2, 2014, death of 9 month-old Devyn Ellis. Devyn died on Oct. 5, 2014.

Devyn was initially treated at INOVA Loudoun Hospital and subsequently transported to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, for treatment of a severe head trauma. Based on suspicious injuries, Loudoun County Child Protective Services was contacted.

She was removed from life support at approximately 5:30 a.m, Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014,

Diamante Ellis is being held without bond.
