Fire Causes Extensive Damage To Leesburg House, No Injuries
A house fire in Leesburg displaced a family of three and caused an estimated $350,000 in damage.
LEESBURG, VA — A house fire in Leesburg displaced a family of three Monday night, according to Loudoun County Fire and Rescue. The fire caused an estimated $350,000 in damage. There were no reported injuries to any of the residents or first responders.
At about 11:15 p.m., fire and rescue units from Lansdowne, Leesburg, Ashburn, Kincora, Moorefield and Fairfax County responded to the fire in the 43000 Block of Rocky Ridge Court in the Potomac Station community of Leesburg.
Loudoun County's Emergency Communications Center received several 911 calls from residents who reported seeing the house on fire. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they saw a fire in the roof of the house. Crews were able to quickly confirm that all occupants were safely out of the home.

The firefighters were able to extinguish a large portion of the fire from the outside. Crews then entered the house with hose lines to put out the remaining fire. The fire was mostly contained to the attic of the home.
Once the fire was determined to be under control, crews worked to salvage operations in an attempt to limit the damage to the remaining portions of the home.

The Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office determined the cause of the fire was a mechanical failure of the HVAC system located in the attic. The house was equipped with working smoke alarms that alerted the family, according to Loudoun Fire and Rescue.
