Fire Marshal: Blaze in Abandoned House Caused By Arson
Flames destroyed single-family home on Tuesday in Leesburg.

The Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that a fire on Tuesday that destroyed an abandoned house in Leesburg was caused by arson, county officials said in a statement.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries in the blaze, which caused $280,000 in damage, according to the fire marshal.
At 12:43 p.m. Tuesday, fire and rescue units from Leesburg, Lansdowne, Lucketts, Hamilton and Ashburn responded to 41966 Dry Hollow Road in Leesburg for a reported house fire, according to the statement.

They found an abandoned two-story, single-family home fully engulfed in fire. Once they confirmed that the home was completely unoccupied, firefighters immediately attacked the flames.
The fire was quickly contained to the house, keeping it from spreading into nearby wooded areas. Crews remained on the scene for follow-up operations, with the last units clearing the scene at 7:15 p.m.
