Former Daycare Assistant Pleads "No Contest"

Brad Minor, 23, will be sentenced on March 9, 2012 on charges of aggravated sexual battery and custodial indecent liberties that stem to a March 2011 incident with a four-year-old.

Brad Minor, 23, a former Assistant at the Chesterbrook Academy daycare center in Leesburg, entered pleas of “no contest” in Loudoun County Circuit Court last week.

The charges of Aggravated Sexual Battery and Custodial Indecent Liberties stem from a March 2011 incident wherein a four-year-old student described inappropriate sexual contact with “Mr. Brad” to their parent upon being picked up from the Academy at the end of the school day. An investigation was conducted by Leesburg Police Detectives and in July 2011 a second victim was discovered.

A forensic examination of the clothing of one of the victim’s revealed bodily fluids that were consistent with the DNA profile of Minor.

“Forensic evidence in a case such as this is critical when your victims are so young and may not be able to withstand the rigors of a trial or even be capable of testifying,” said Commonwealth’s Attorney Jim Plowman.  “The strength of independent scientific evidence such as this is paramount when it comes to protecting the most innocent and vulnerable of victims.”

Minor will be sentenced on March 9, 2012 at 9 a.m. in Loudoun Circuit Court. The two charges carry a total of up to twenty-five years in prison, which will be determined by the sentencing Judge, and will require Minor to register as a sex offender on the State’s registry.
