Loudoun F&R: Pool Chemicals Caused Evacuation at Village

Three were transported to a hospital and HAZMAT vehicles were among those deployed to Swim U in Leesburg.

Three adults were transported to Inova Lansdowne Hospital Tuesday following an incident at Swim U in Leesburg.

Loudoun Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management received reports of a possible gas leak around 5 p.m. and quickly evacuated the building. A hazardous materials team responded to the scene and determined the incident was caused by the chemical balance in the pool, according to a report from Loudoun Fire & Rescue.

There were no significant injuries reported for those transported to the hospital.

Swim U immediately contacted their maintenance crew to make the required repairs before reopening.
