Just in time for the holidays, Hallmark Gold Crown will be opening up Oct. 18 in the Leesburg Plaza shopping center on E. Market Street. Renovation is underway transforming the 6,000 square foot space from the former Books a Million, which closed in September 2o23.
The store is sandwiched between Loudoun Kitchen and Bar and Kobe Japanese Steak House.
Most of Hallmark's roughly 1,245 stores are privately owned, according to the company. Sixteen of them closed in 2020 citing the trend to purchase online versus brick and mortar stores, increases in lease expenses and slow sales since COVID.
