Update: Hazmat Incident Occurs Near Leesburg
Scene has been cleared after road closures cause a number of delays
UPDATE: The Leesburg Police Department was on the scene of a Hazmat incident, earlier this evening, at the Route 7 bypass, near Leesburg.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. near the Dry Mill and Childrens Center Road overpasses. Route 7, both east and westbound were shut down from W. Market St. coming into town. The two hour closure caused a number of delays, especially on Route 9 and 15 South.
Roadways remained closed in both directions, until approximately 7:43 p.m. as emergency crews worked to clean up the affected area. The Leesburg Patch will provide more information as it becomes available.
