OUTCRY: Contending in Worship and Prayer for an End to the Teen Suicides, Drug Abuse and Overdoses in Loudoun – August 12

Teens and young adults are dying from suicide and addiction in Loudoun County at unprecedented numbers. But God has a prescription!

Hope for Leesburg July 31 - August 19, 2017 is being held under a big tent at 850 Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg, Va. Hope for Leesburg is a twenty-day series of events which provide an opportunity for us to focus on the One who can meet the deepest needs of the human personality, Jesus Christ.

Did you know that eight school-age teens have committed suicide in the past 22 months in Loudoun County? Previously, Loudoun had experienced perhaps 1 teen suicide every 2 years. These devastating numbers do not even account for the substance abuse, addiction, overdoses, and suicide attempts, or murder of teens. Nor does it include the many young adults who have recently taken their lives.

Several awareness/educational programs and mental health initiatives have been enacted and are noble, but these have not stemmed the tide of death in our community. In 2 Chronicles 20, when King Jehoshaphat was faced with overwhelming armies coming against him and had no natural hope, he called his people to pray, fast and worship the Most High God. No earthly strategies would work so they turned to the miracle-working Deliverer to save them. It is time to cry out to God in humility and desperation, to seek His face and worship Him and declare, as Jehoshaphat did in 2 Chronicles 20:12, "O Lord, we don't know what to do but our eyes are on You!" God instructed Jehoshaphat to appoint those who sing and praise the Lord to go before the army and sing... As they sang, "Give thanks to the Lord, for His steadfast love endures forever," the Lord set an ambush against the enemy and the armies were destroyed.

It's time to cry out to God to deliver us from a culture of death and despair to one of Life, Liberty, Hope, and Destiny. In John 10:10 Jesus tells us, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." We have the power of praise and worship to combine with our prayers to change the atmosphere and shift the spiritual battle in God's favor over our community.

OUTCRY was birthed out of this sense of desperation for God to save our young people. “OUTCRY” is a unified gathering of believers crying out to God in repentance, worship, and prayer for this rising generation… taking a stand against the waves of suicide, addiction, and drug overdoses ravaging the youth of Loudoun County… releasing hope, freedom and life.

“OUTCRY” Saturday, August 12, from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM at 850 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA

On August 12th youth and young adult worship teams will lead worship, interwoven with prayer, all day as we worship the Lord God and cry out in prayer for Him to come and shift the atmosphere and save our young people. This effort is a partnership between Loudoun Burn, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Hope for Leesburg, Freedom Center, Hearts for Harvest and several churches.

Everyone is welcome anytime throughout the day as youth and young adult worship teams lead worship and prayer enthroning Jesus on our praises. Prayer teams will be available to pray with anyone needing prayer for healing, comfort and hope.

The day will culminate in a county-wide night of worship, prayer and ministry from 5:30 - 9:00 PM.

Please come out and bring your friends, family, and neighbors who have been impacted by suicide, depression, and addiction to receive hope and healing. This is an opportunity for us as the Body of Christ to help shift the tide of darkness and apathy sweeping our county and to see many lives healed and saved for eternity.
