How Much Will Your Remodeling Project Really Cost?

Our newly updated remodeling guide can help you figure out what you want and how to budget better.

We all have rooms in our home that we’d like to update. However, if you’ve never ventured into the world of remodeling, it can be a challenge to know what costs what and how much you should budget. Prices and style trends can vary based on your area, but you don’t want to end up overpaying.

Luckily, our newly updated remodeling guide can help you figure out what you want and how to budget better. We took our popular 2014 guide and reworked it to reflect 2015 cost estimates.

Based off of Remodeling Magazine’s 2015 “Cost vs. Value” report, we used the data from the Washington, DC area to create a guide the reflects the tastes of home owners in the Northern Virginia area. For instance, even though Remodeling Magazine listed laminate countertops as the standard remodeling choice, we’ve found that most remodels in the Northern Virginia area prefer granite or engineered stone countertops as their “standard” choice.
