How NOT to Dispose of Ammunition in Loudoun County
Deputies search grounds of two schools after box of ammo found near recycling bin, according to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

But first, Loudoun County Sheriff’s deputies were called near 6 p.m. Sunday night to a recycling bin at 38150 West Colonial Highway in Hamilton. A resident had discovered a box of ammunition.
The area was searched and there was no evidence of discharged rounds, according to a sheriff’s office release.

“Due to the proximity to Harmony Middle School and Kenneth W. Culbert Elementary School, the school grounds were also searched,” according to the release. “There were no threats associated with the incident.”
If you want to dispose of ammunition, Loudoun County suggests you contact the Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office at 703-737-8600 to arrange for disposal.
