Inova Loudoun Hospital Offering “Ask the Expert” Lecture

Hernias: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment Options

As part of its free, public service “Ask the Expert” lecture series, Inova Loudoun Hospital will host “Hernias: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment Options” on Monday, September 12 at 6 p.m. The lecture is designed to inform attendees about hernias, a common medical condition in both men and women. While hernias can be present at birth, others develop later in life. Being overweight, heavy lifting, and a family history of hernias are a few risk factors that can make you more susceptible to developing a hernia. While most are not immediately life threatening, some can require surgery to prevent potentially dangerous complications and alleviate pain.
Join Board Certified General Surgeon Dr. James Lesniewski as he speaks about the varying types of hernias, causes, symptoms, and treatment options. Learn about the latest advances in minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery for hernia repair.
The lecture will be at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Leesburg, in Conference Rooms A&B (South Lobby Entrance). Free valet parking is available. Participation is also free but seating is limited. To register visit inova.org/AskTheExpert or call 1.855.MY.INOVA (855.694.6682).
