Inova Loudoun will host three, free lectures during the month of May

As part of its free “Ask the Expert” lecture series, Inova Loudoun Hospital will host three lectures during the month of May, Demystifying Common Foot and Ankle Conditions, Breast Cancer: What you Need to Know when the Rules Keep Changing, and Treatment Options for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).

  • Demystifying Common Foot and Ankle Conditions lecture on Wednesday, May 17 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

The human foot is capable of handling hundreds of tons of force. But, the stress of carrying you around every day puts your feet at high risk of injury. Many suffer from sore, achy feet – often resulting from common foot problems like bunions, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis, and plantar warts. Do you suffer from foot and ankle pain?   • Breast Cancer: What you Need to Know when the Rules Keep Changing lecture on Monday, May 22 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

It’s often said that, “one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime”. What does this statement really mean? Board Certified, breast-only surgeon Dr. Virginia Chiantella will review the questions to ask your doctor to help determine your risk, how to how to navigate the sometimes conflicting issues of when and how to be screened, and cancer management in the age of Angelina.

  • Treatment Options for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) lecture on Tuesday, May 23 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

What’s the difference between PAD, blocked arteries, and claudication? And, more importantly, how should these conditions be treated and managed? Board Certified Vascular Interventional

Radiologist Dr. Salman Mufti and Board Certified Vascular Surgeon Dr. Reagan Quan as they discuss the latest advances in minimally-invasive endovascular interventions and surgical options.
