“IRAN: A THREAT TO WORLD PEACE?”
GCMIC welcomes Kamran Safiarian, Author and Journalist with ZDF German Television. Kamran Safiarian was born in Teheran (Iran), and studied journalism, political science and social psychology in Munich and Paris. He worked for RTL and the BBC in London, and has been a reporter for German public TV (ZDF) since 1995, later contributing to its news magazine “heute journal” and its cultural program “Kulturzeit.” While working for ZDF, Mr. Safiarian has made numerous reports from Iran, Afghanistan, Israel, Jordan and Turkey. In 2007, he became the anchorman of “Forum am Freitag”, a program about Islam and integration in Germany, and made a documentary about the pilgrimage to Mecca. Kamran Safiarian is the author of the book Pulverfass Iran — Wohin treibt der Gottesstaat? (Powder Keg Iran – A Theocracy Going Where?, Herder Verlag, 2011). He was nominated in 2004 for the Axel Springer Prize for young journalists, and speaks fluent English, French, Persian and Afghani.

Market Street, the Loudoun County Government parking garage located on Loudoun Street (between Harrison & Church streets) and metered spots in downtown Leesburg. There is no public access from Edwards Ferry Road. Only handicapped parking is permitted on the grounds.
