Lansdowne Woods to Open Monthly Performance Series to the Public Starting in June
The Music at the Monroe series will kick off Saturday, June 18, with a Red, White & Blue Dance at 7 pm in honor of Flag Day.
Lansdowne, VA – Lansdowne Woods will be open to the public beginning in June for a monthly performance series in the Monroe Auditorium, located in the community’s spectacular two-level clubhouse. A broad range of music and dance performances will come to the Monroe Auditorium stage on June 18, July 16 and August 13, and members of the public can now attend these for a nominal fee.
“Our community has always supported a variety of phenomenal performances here, which until now, have been just for us,” said Activities Director Donaliece Carey. “We have a wonderful concert venue and our residents thought this would be a terrific opportunity to share some of these great performances with our neighbors,” she added.
The Music at the Monroe series will kick off Saturday, June 18, with a Red, White & Blue Dance at 7 pm in honor of Flag Day. Sue and Gary Caley, a husband-and-wife dance duo based in Reston, have been teaching swing dance for nearly 20 years. Their popular Friday night dances at the Washington Dulles Hilton attract approximately 150 to 200 people of all ages and dance ability, and organizers are hoping for a similar turnout. The evening starts with a 30-minute lesson to get things rolling. Ticket cost is $10.

On Saturday, July 16 at 7 pm, Lansdowne Woods will feature the Loudoun Jazz Ensemble, which has been performing its big band style of music since 1997, and is directed by talented jazz trombonist John Morgan. Ticket cost is $10.
Closing out the summer concert series on Saturday, August 13, at 7 pm is an up-and-coming local band called The NENO Project. Named after its charismatic front man and backed by four talented Loudoun County musicians, The NENO Project features soul-stirring original music as well as favorite R&B covers. Ticket cost is $5.

Members of the public interested in attending one of these events may purchase tickets by contacting the Lansdowne Woods Clubhouse. For campus access, call 703-723-1501 to have your name added to the Performance Series Roster. The Monroe Auditorium doors will open at 6:30pm for cocktails. The Crossroads Restaurant located next to the auditorium will be open for dinner and drinks prior to the start of the events.
