Leesburg Man Sought For Stealing Own Vehicle From Tow Truck

Authorities are looking for a Leesburg man who stole his own truck at gunpoint from a tow truck driver Monday in Haymarket: PWC Police.

HAYMARKET, VA — Authorities are looking for a Leesburg man who ostensibly stole his own truck at gunpoint from a tow truck driver Monday afternoon in the area of Mountain Road and Loudoun Drive, according to Prince William County Police.

Kenneth Lewis Harris, 48, of the 100 block of Clubhouse Drive, is wanted for robbery, use of a firearm in a commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, preventing the summoning of law enforcement and driving on a suspended license. He's described as black, 6-2, 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. The truck is a black 2003 GMC Yukon with Virginia tags VXS-5874.

Around 2 p.m., police went to the area for a reported robbery. Turns out that earlier, Harris had been pulled over for a traffic violation by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. He was given a summons and his car was ordered to be towed. The tow truck driver, 25, agreed to give Harris a ride to Prince William County.

So he did just. When they reached the aforementioned area, Harris told the driver to pull over. He got out, walked to the driver's side door, flashed a gun and demanded his truck be unhooked from the tow truck. The driver did as he was told, and Harris fled in his vehicle.
