Leesburg Police Department Investigates Accident Involving Pedestrian

Driver stopped to speak with victim Wednesday night, police still investigating

On Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at approximately 7:00 PM, a traffic accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle occurred on Sycolin Road SE near the intersection of Tavistock Drive SE. The vehicle involved was described as a black mid-size car driven by a white male. The driver did stop at the scene and spoke with the pedestrian. The Leesburg Police Department is currently investigating this accident. Because no call was made to the department at the time of the accident, investigating officers need to speak with the driver of the vehicle and ask that he contact the Leesburg Police Department by calling 703-771-4500. Anyone who may have witnessed or been involved in the incident is asked to call the department as well.
