Leesburg Police Officer Retires After 20 Years Of Service
After two decades with the department and multiple achievements, Master Police Officer Christopher Tidmore is retiring.

LEESBURG, VA — Master Police Officer Christopher Tidmore is retiring from the Leesburg Police Department after more than two decades on the job. Tidmore was hired on July 8, 1999, and since then has held numerous positions throughout the department.
Tidmore began his career in law enforcement as a corrections officer at the Maryland Department of Corrections in Montgomery County in 1995. In 1997, Tidmore became a patrol officer with the Warrenton Police Department before he was hired by the Leesburg Police Department two years later.
While with the Leesburg Police Department, Tidmore served in numerous specialized positions and roles including crime prevention officer, public information officer, Honor Guard team member, Emergency Response Team member and Barment Program manager, among other positions.

Tidmore also was a school resource officer and a lead instructor for the Gang Resistance Education and Training program. He started the Leesburg Police Department Explorer program and served as the coordinator of the program for several years. In addition, Tidmore was a principal volunteer and organizer of the annual National Night Out celebrations in Leesburg and developed the department’s Holidays with the Cops event, now in its 10th year.
Over the years, Tidmore was recognized with Valor Awards and multiple Leesburg Police Department commendations.
