Leesburg Police Seek Public's Help In Ida Lee Assault, Theft

LEESBURG, VA — The Leesburg Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying suspects in a theft and assault that happened in August in the parking lot of the Ida Lee Recreation Center. The police released an "attempt to identify" bulletin Tuesday of two suspects in the incident.

On Aug. 3 at 3:40 p.m., Leesburg Police dispatchers received a report of two men assaulting a woman in the parking lot of 70 Ida Lee Drive NW. Upon arrival, police found the 45-year-old woman in the parking lot suffering from minor injuries.

During the incident, the woman found one of the suspects in her vehicle and confronted him. The man got out of the vehicle and the second suspect allegedly assaulted the woman in an attempt to aid their escape.

The two men fled the area in a vehicle. Property was stolen from the vehicle of the woman, who was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
