Leesburg Restaurant Inspections: Violations At 10 Locations
10 locations around Leesburg and western Loudoun County were cited during recent inspections from the Loudoun County Health Department.
LEESBURG, VA — Several restaurants and childcare facilities in western Loudoun County were cited with violations during recent visits from the Loudoun County Health Department. The inspections took place between Nov. 10 and Nov. 16.
As coronavirus restrictions continue to fluctuate around the state, health inspectors are returning to conduct some restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.
Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection.

- Shellfish tags were reviewed and there was no date listed on tags as to when the last shellstock was sold /served.
- Employee was observed washing pans at dish machine wearing gloves and handling the dirty pans and clean pans with the same pair of gloves.
- The low temp dish machine chlorine concentration was observed at less than 25 ppm.
- Old food residue was observed on the frame of slicer that is used to cut deli meats

- Observed: Beef burger on menu does not have reminder (*) that corresponds to disclosure at the bottom of the menu.
- An irreversible registering temperature indicator was not provided for the hot water mechanical warewashing operation.
