Leesburg Teen Charged with DUI Following Crash

Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Harpers Ferry Road north of Route 9 for a motor vehicle crash involving serious injury.  Rukiye Nicole Miller, 19, of Leesburg was operating a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on Harpers Ferry road approaching Route 9, when for unknown reasons she started to go towards the left side of the roadway.  Overcorrecting to the right, the Jetta ran off the west side of the roadway striking a utility pole and a large tree.  Miller was transported to the Lansdowne Campus of INOVA Loudoun Hospital and then airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital where she remains in critical condition.  Miller was charged with DUI. An 18-year-old front seat passenger from Hillsboro was ground transported to the Cornwall Campus of INOVA Loudoun Hospital where she was treated and released.  A 23-year-old backseat passenger from Leesburg was also ground transported to the Cornwall Campus of INOVA Loudoun Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
