Local SAR Chapter Supports DAR Constitution Day Commemoration

The Daughters of the American Revolution commemorated Constitution Day at their Headquarters in Washington DC on 17 September

The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) was invited to present current and historic National colors during the annual Commemoration of the Signing of the Constitution at DAR Headquarters in Washington DC on Tuesday, 17 September, the 237th Anniversary of the signing by 12 state delegations.
The Color Guard was organized by the Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter of Loudoun County, Virginia. Participating in the Color Guard were Brett Osborn, Virginia SAR Color Guard Commander and member of the Colonel James Wood II Chapter, Bill Schwetke, Past President Viginia SAR and member of the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter, Ken Bonner, 3rd VP of the Virginia SAR and immediate past President Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter, and Rick Abbott with the John Paul Jones Chapter of the Maryland SAR.
Brett Osborn was Color Guard Commander; Bill Schwetke advanced the Flag of the United States, Rick Abbott carried the 13-star Betsy Ross flag, and Ken Bonner trailed as rear guard.
