Loudoun County Bed & Breakfast Tour This Sunday

Nine bed and breakfasts will be a part of the free self-guided tour, which will take place from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Loudoun Bed & Breakfast Guild will hold its fourth annual open house on Sunday, April 29. Nine bed and breakfasts will be included in the self-guided tour, which allows visitors to experience the properties before they decide to stay.

“We wanted to provide an opportunity to show our facilities to members of the public and to show what Loudoun County has to offer for a nice relaxing getaway,” said Stone Manor Bed & Breakfast owner and committee member Spencer Ault.

Loudoun County has become the heart of Virginia’s horse and wine country, he said. The area now boasts more than 30 wineries, historic towns and villages, Civil War history and interesting attractions.

“We have a beautiful county that gives visitors an opportunity to explore the rural setting so close to the city,” Ault said. “It’s one thing to stay at a motel when one's traveling from point A to point B. But if someone wants to really enjoy an area your bed and breakfast proprietors are going to know the area better than anyone.”

Properties in Leesburg, Purcellville, and Middleburg will be included in the tour, including two special event venues. Local wineries and restaurants, including and , will provide tastings at various locations.

“This is an unique opportunity to visit and tour around the B&Bs and event venues opening their doors for the Loudoun Bed & Breakfast Guild Open House – an experience that you would normally only have if you were staying at one of the properties or holding an event there,” said committee member Chris Geno.

“The ambiance of the B&Bs and their beautiful locations, actually getting to meet and talk with the owners and learn about their stories, coupled with the tastings from local wineries and restaurants, makes for a cozy and relaxing Sunday afternoon in the country.”
