Loudoun County Deputy Honored For Work Curbing Impaired Driving

Deputy First Class Gerald Presson with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving - Virginia.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A deputy with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office once again was nominated for his efforts to curb impaired driving in the county. Deputy First Class Gerald Presson was honored yesterday with the Northern Virginia Law Enforcement Award, presented by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) - Virginia.

In the past two years, Presson removed more than 50 drivers who were driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs from Loudoun County roadways, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post celebrating his achievement. Presson also was recognized for his efforts last December at the 21st Annual Law Enforcement Awards, hosted by the Washington Regional Alcohol Program.

Presson currently is assigned to the Western Loudoun Station and has been with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office for more than three years.
