Loudoun County High School (LCHS)Junior Selected as Virginia SAR Life Saver of the Year

LCHS Junior and Naval JROTC cadet Jaxon Brown was presented the 2026 Life Saver of the Year award by the Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution (VASSAR). The presentation was made at the Societies 2026 Annual meeting by President Dr. Michael Weyler and Barry Schwoerer, President of the Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter.

In late 2024 Jaxon was trying out for a Lacrosse team when a fellow player was hit directly over his heart by a high speed Lacrosse ball. The blow stopped the victims heart. Recognizing the severity of the situation Jaxon immediately started CPR and continued until EMT's arrived 10 minutes later. The EMT's credited Jaxon's fast action for saving the young man's life. The condition causing Cardiac arrest is called Commotio Cordis, a rare disruption of the heart rhythm resulting from a blow directly over the heart. The condition is fatal in 97% of cases if not treated within three minutes.

Jaxon was presented an acrylic commemorating his action and a $500 check. Jaxon was accompanied by his parents.
