Loudoun County’s newly formed professional baseball team, the Loudoun Hounds, will be hosting its’ inaugural “FanFest” from 12 – 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at Stone Bridge High School.
Established in 2010, the Hounds will play their first game at the start of the 2012 season in the independent Atlantic Professional Baseball League which features teams from throughout the east coast. They will play their games at the “Hound Pound” 5,500-seat stadium located in the Kincora village at the intersection of Route 7 and Route 28.

The Fan Fest will feature appearances and photo opts with former MLB stars including Frank Howard, Tommy John, Cecil Fielder, Otis Nixon, Tippy Martinez, Bobby Richardson and Boog Powell others.
“The Hounds are going to mean a lot to this area and will fit into the fab, ric of baseball in the region seamlessly. I am looking forward to being at their FanFest and having a great time with their fans,” Frank Howard said of the upcoming event.

This will be Loudoun County residents’ first opportunity to interact with the team. It is being sponsored in a joint effort by OneVoice Communications, Toll Brothers, Belfort Furniture and Visit Loudoun.
In addition to the former big leaguers in attendance, the team will also reveal their mascot, the name of which is being determined in a contest among area elementary schools. There will also be live music played by the A+ Dropouts, a teenage rock band from Loudoun County and fans will be able to purchase Loudoun Hounds team gear and season tickets as well. The family oriented event will also feature face painting, balloon animals and much more for younger fans in attendance.
“The FanFest is building as the must-attend event of the winter and we can’t think of a better way to show our fans what the Hounds are all about,” said Bob Farren, the Hounds’ president. “We are honored that all of these great ballplayers are going to be in Loudoun County to support your Loudoun Hounds.”
