Loudoun Schools Consolidate Meal Sites During Coronavirus Closure
Loudoun County Public Schools is reducing the number of pickup sites for students eligible for meals during the coronavirus closure.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — After studying the demand for meals during the last three days, Loudoun County Public Schools is discontinuing meal service at 12 sites across the county to concentrate resources where they are needed most, the school system said Tuesday. The school system also has changed the meal pickup time at schools to 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The county school system began providing meals to students last Friday after schools were ordered closed for two weeks by Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam to contain the spread of the new coronavirus, or COVID-19. Eligible students are permitted to take a breakfast and lunch each day. The school system said thousands of meals have been served since last Friday, and the program was expanded this week to include deliveries by bus.
Meals will continue to be delivered by buses to sites throughout the county. The county school system has provided an interactive map showing those locations.
