Loudoun To Provide Students With Free Meals During School Closure
Loudoun County School Nutrition Services will be providing free meal service to county students during the next two weeks.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County's School Nutrition Services will be providing free meal service to eligible county students at schools and other designated locations during the next two weeks when all schools in Virignia are required to be closed due to concerns about the coronavirus known as COVID-19. The meal service will be provided from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
So far 30 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Virginia, which is under a state of emergency. To help prevent the spread of the respiratory disease, Gov. Ralph Northam on Friday afternoon ordered all kindergarten through 12th-grade schools to close for at least two weeks starting March 16.
Students in Loudoun County will be allowed to receive two meals daily — breakfast and lunch —and can choose to take both meals simultaneously. Students can receive the meals at the school of their choice, not just at the school they attend.
