Loudoun Startup Connects Horse Enthusiasts
On October 10th, Dream Funder, LLC will launch their flagship product, HorseMatrix (SM), at http://www.horseMatrix.com, the new, ultra-local information hub that helps equestrians quickly find horse related events, businesses, and classifieds in Northern Virginia. Basic event, classified ad, and business listings are free. Sponsorship and online advertising opportunities are available, with special discounts during the October, 2014 launch.
HorseMatrix is a place to connect. This area has a strong tradition of major equestrian events and is replete with horse enthusiasts as well as farms and related commerce. Until now, though, the community has relied mainly on word-of-mouth and print advertising to connect supply with demand. With the tremendous growth of suburban and rural population, the market for agri-tourism in general, and equine recreation in particular needs a one-stop resource for anyone who wants to keep up with the Northern Virginia horse community. HorseMatrix is hyper-local, actively curated, and designed to eliminate dead space and stale information. The site is carefully managed by people who know the area and the equine lifestyle and have been themselves frustrated by the amount of detective work it takes to connect with a customer or supplier. Moreover, instead of focusing on the type of business or riding specialty, HorseMatrix focuses on the location. The goal is to find contacts and connect closer to home with way less effort.

“I was spending so much time trying to keep up with the various show schedules and clinics in the area, and I was still not hearing about events I wanted to do. And then trying to use Google to locate a business down the street was impossible! I knew there had to be a better way.” said Callie Fulmer, “Beata and Rob have the technical skills and passion to bring this resource to life in a 21st-Century style.”
HorseMatrix was founded by life-long horse trainer Callie Fulmer of calliefulmer.com, and two career IT professionals, Beata and Rob Jones of CloudProIT Corp., who are also avid horse owners.
