Mount Watson Middle School teacher won VA SAR Teacher of the Year

Erik Sassak, History teacher at Mount Watson Middle School in Leesburg was selected by the Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) as History Teacher of the Year for 2024. The nomination process started with the Loudoun County based Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter. The nomination package was then forwarded to the Virginia SAR Teacher of the Year Committee where Mr. Sussak was the unanimous selection as Teacher of the Year.

At the awards ceremony Mr. Sassak was presented an acrylic memorializing his selection and a cash award. Presenting the award was Dr. William "Bill" Greaf, president of Virginia SAR, Barry Schwoerer, President Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter, and Ken Hawkins, Virginia SAR Awards Committee Chairman.
