NEW LED SOURCE FRANCHISEE DECIDES TO MAKE IT A FAMILY BUSINESS

Many people start their own business, if they can, to improve their work/life balance. They enjoy the freedom they gain from it, and for many, it allows them to spend more time with their families.

Steve and Esther Searles, of Leesburg, VA, have a unique idea on how to spend more time with their family without sacrificing their careers.

The Searles’ recently purchased a franchise from LED Source, the leading international solutions provider for professional, high-quality LED lighting products. The Searles’ will be responsible for managing LED Source products and services throughout the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, which includes Northern Virginia and Maryland, in addition to the District of Columbia.

“I wanted more control over my destiny and my time,” said Steve. “I wanted to spend more time with my family so I am including them in this business.”

Neither Steve nor Esther has ever owned a franchise before, but they’re excited by the changes happening in the industry and the opportunity for growth.

They may not have direct experience with lighting, but having worked for decades as an electrical engineer, Steve sees the potential of LED lighting.

“The opportunity is not simply to do business,” said Esther. “But also help other businesses in the community conserve energy and protect the environment.”

With the Department of Energy estimating a savings of $250 billion saved in energy costs over the next two decades by switching to LED lighting, there is great opportunity for the company to do right by its customers and the world.

Steve is also excited by the prospect of evolving technology.

“The heart of LED lighting is electronic, like TVs, computers and cell phones. New and more capable products are coming almost every day, with each better than the one before it. This will fuel market growth.”
